Mumager are very excited to have recently joined forces with childcare expert Catherine Lawlor, allowing us to enhance our offering to include supporting parents in making informed decisions about quality childcare options.

Catherine Lawlor – Early Years Education and Care – Trainer and Consultant.

My aim is to support parents in making informed decisions about quality childcare options, a good fit and first choice, before maternity leave starts if possible, while linking with the employer and childcare facility for support, ensuring a positive transition to parenthood and less stress return to work.

I have in the past advised and mentored childcare facilities with setting up appropriately stimulating spaces for curious children and organised in-service training for staff and delivered parent talks. I have run my own Montessori preschool and have been teaching/training children and adults for many years. I was there when the money came from the EU and was actively involved in the advising and development of the new guidelines of Síolta quality framework and Aistear curriculum (NCCA), Garda Vetting and Child Protection issues, alongside all the training, conferences, workshops and politics that inevitably went with it. I have worked in the area of childcare for over 25 years in a number of capacities and have seen society’s shifts and turns, but of all my challenges and achievements still the greatest is having reared four beautiful children. I am aware that modern Ireland society does not place the same value on parenting as in the past, but I know that most parents still do.

Mumager are delighted to be associated with eumom as their ‘Back to Work’ experts. In our line of work we meet and talk with a lot of women who are working moms. Recognising the pressures that many of us are juggling, Mumager was born from the three of us wanting to do something practical to help moms manage that transition back to work. As regular eumom contributors our aim is to share practical advice and tools that manage that transition, so that everyone – parents, children and bosses – all benefit. You can ask us questions over at eumom.
